YOU:

• are able to move in after May and stay until at least June 2005 (you can move in sooner if you need to…or later as long as you pay for rent starting June)
• are a female between the ages of 21 and 30
• are not allergic to cats (I have two)
• don’t have any pets (two cats is enough, trust me)
• are willing to not smoke in the apartment (if you smoke).  There’s a window down the hall that my last two roommates were fond of smoking out of

THE LEASE:

• You’d be signing a year contract with me, not my landlord
• my landlord is super nice and always takes care of any problems

COSTS:

• rent is $500/month (not including utilities)
• utilities include a gas bill averaging $23 which comes every two months, and the electric bill averages $60 a month (you’d pay half of both bills)
• there is a phone line in the house, but it is not hooked up
• I don’t have cable TV, but you’re more than welcome to get it ;)

INTERNET:

• I have a cable modem—you can buy a router and share it as long as you share half the cost of it with me ($50/month, you’d pay $25)

THE APARTMENT:

• has two bedrooms with a large living room, a cute kitchen, a good-sized bathroom, and a hallway with two closets
• is fully furnished with a somewhat 1950s decor (except the bedroom you’d be living in)
• is on the 4^th floor of a walk-up

YOUR BEDROOM:

• is 12' x 10.5' with a very big closet and two big windows. 
• is currently painted maroon and white

THE LIVING SITUATION:

• you and I would be the only people living here
• we each get our own bedroom
• we’d work out a cleaning schedule to avoid arguments

LOCATION:

• the building is 6 blocks from the Newkirk Avenue subway stop on the Q/B line
• it takes about a half hour to get to Union Square from here

I:

• have lived here for three years
• am a 22-year-old (23 in June), straight female
• am studying forensic science at John Jay College; I graduate May 2005
• like indie music, punk, rockabilly, Morrissey, Bjork and all sorts of other stuff
• love horror movies
