My name is Emily Sarah Brandt, named after Emily Dickinson.

I work as a lab technician at an eye bank on Wall Street; I cut corneas out of corpses to be used for transplant in the living. I have an undergraduate degree in forensic science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  I have also attended both NYU and Stevens Institute of Technology—I had problems making decisions. I am originally from the pit of hell (a.k.a. Bricktown), which can be found in glorious NJ. I've been living in Brooklyn since the summer of 2001, and moved into my very own studio apartment in January of 2006. No matter what you may hear to the contrary, Brooklyn is the best borough.

I am a Gemini, born June 5th, 1981. If you do the math correctly, that makes me 27. As my sign indicates, I have a split personality.

Some things that make me happy include my kitties Milo & Jack, dancing, naps, being a vegetarian, classic cars, Strangers With Candy, decorating, anything 50s, Netflix, my apartment, sarcasm, my bike, Prospect Park, talking to myself, springtime, bargains, soft tissues, knowing my way around NYC, sipping coffee through stirring straws, sincere compliments, people that are nice for no reason, feeling in control, my good friends, my ratty old converse, shopping, and sleeping on the subway.

I really dislike that I'm suddenly allergic to my cats and dust, pseudo-intellectuals, slow drivers, the president, pointless wars, cars that honk their horns in the middle of the night and wake me up, that it took me 6 years to finish college, when my cats play with their own crap, the religious zealots that preach on the subway, people who curse loudly in public, pretentious people, dating in my 20s, that high heels hurt my feet, slow-walkers, spicy foods, beef, daytime TV, NYC tourists, bratty kids, and going back to NJ.

I wish I wasn't so judgmental, I had better luck with guys, my friends lived closer, I could run faster and longer, I had a travel buddy, someone would invent teleporting already, my student loans were paid off, I could get paid to watch movies, I didn't always procrastinate, I could afford more things that I wanted, I could lose 10 pounds, and I had better posture.
